Yevo: Convenient, Affordable, Healthy Foods
Many of us would like to improve our health by eating well, but we let cost and inconvenience get in the way. And this is a shame, because our country faces huge health issues -- obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. -- that I believe have plenty to do with what we eat.
(I believe it also has to do with our exposure to toxins and our inability to flush them safely because we don't have the right nutrients in the body, as well as inner issues like exposure to shock, stress, and our emotional or spiritual responses to life.)
So one obvious key to changing this story is for us to find easy steps -- steps that we'll actually take -- toward eating more nutritious foods. And what could help more than nutritious foods that are both convenient and affordable?
This is the promise of Yevo, a company that's trying to overturn how we do food. One of its lead formulators helped create food for the Zone Diet, but he wanted to take this another step and create food that would provide us with all of our essential nutrients while remaining tasty and being convenient to make.
Essential nutrients are nutrients that can't be manufactured inside the body, so they must be gotten through diet or supplementation; and most of our food is of such poor quality, and lacks so much in diversity, that we're not getting these nutrients, which means the body cannot function the way it's supposed to.
So Yevo is rolling out foods that provide all of our essential nutrients, and besides water (no established recommended amount) and sodium (we already get too much), each meal provides about 50% of the recommended amount. So one of these meals a day is a great supplement to your diet; two a day ensures that you're at least getting the recommended amount of all these nutrients.
In addition, the foods are high in fiber, which is incredibly important to good health, and they all boast high levels of complete proteins. (Not all proteins are equal; if you don't get the right mix, you will not get all the necessary amino acids, which build proteins, which build your body.) For those with allergies, please note that the proteins typically come from dairy, soy, or egg, so check the labels.
(If you've read my comments on soy on the "Diet" page, some people are concerned with isoflavones in soy. Yevo points to hundreds of studies that show little to no affect on our hormones from isoflavones; but for those still concerned about this, they source soy with very low levels of this component.)
Yevo meals have No MSG; No trans fats; No preservatives; No artificial colors; and No refined sugars. They are also non-GMO and relatively low in sodium. And they include "no sugar added" options. So when you read my diet page and know that I recommend getting away from artificial foods and cutting back on sugar as the two most important steps in moving toward health, you can see why I'm a fan of what Yevo offers. It helps you take those steps while still providing health meals and getting you all your essential nutrients.
Right now their meal selection is limited, but is expanding. You can easily incorporate a smoothie or bowl of oatmeal or granola into every day and start your transformation right away. (Consider a "no sugar added" product with breakfast; and then if you need to have something sweet later in the day, their natural sugar oatmeal and rice cereal are both delicious and could make a healthy alternative to dessert.)
If you choose an automatic monthly delivery, you get 25% off retail prices and free shipping, which means your meals can be under $4 each, delivered. While this is more expensive than traditional oatmeal (for instance), this is a full meal with around 300 calories and packed with nutrition. This is similar in cost to a frozen meal, which won't have anywhere close to the nutrition.
I am a distributor of Yevo, so please take this bias into account. (I make a small referral fee if you choose to buy their foods through my link.) But if you've read through my page on diet and agree with my balanced approach to eating well, and the steps toward getting there, I think you'll see why Yevo foods can be a great tool. I encourage you to take a look and see if they're right for you.
