Dr. Oz made a lot of people aware of raspberry ketone (an aroma compound) as a weight loss supplement. Raspberry ketone helps the body to produce and secrete more adiponectin, which modulates a number of metabolic processes, including glucose regulation. And past research has shown that the more adiponectin in the body, the lower the levels of body fat. Dr. Oz recommended 100 mg per day.
But the story isn't that simple. Mainstream sources will clearly tell you that there are no studies showing that raspberry ketone support weight loss, and the mouse study that Dr. Oz refers to uses ketone levels far beyond what you would get in your diet or even with supplementation. So what do you do with that?
My preference is to NOT recommend raspberry ketone alone, because there are so many nutrients that clearly DO support weight loss. And that's why I'm happy that our brand, Avalon Select, has brought a raspberry ketone complex to market. It has a number of dynamite nutrients to support you in losing weight. With 1200 mg of active ingredients, you get at least the 100 mg of raspberry ketone that Dr. Oz recommended, but you also get much more. You get:
African Mango Extra -- lab research shows that it helps to inhibit the production of new fat cells. It also helps to improve metabolism.
Acai Fruit & Resveratrol -- super antioxidants.
Green Tea Extract -- many benefits beyond weight loss support (including blood sugar control). It's supposed to fight cancer and infections, support healthy blood pressure, prevent inflammation and tooth decay, and more.
Caffeine Anhydrous -- in small amounts like this, it has a number of benefits including energy, appetite suppression, and improved metabolism.
Apple Cider Vinegar -- a favorite in the natural health community, it's purported to support in a long list of health matters, including weight loss.
Kelp -- tremendous overall nutrient support (SO important especially when losing weight). One of today's most underrated nutritional supplements.
Grapefruit (powder) -- support against infections and more, while also supporting weight loss.
PLEASE NOTE: I consider all weight loss supplements to be supportive tools only, and not magic weight loss potions. Please remember that quality weight loss supplements will simply provide nutrition or work with brain / body signals to support you in losing weight, and should be combined with healthy food and lifestyle choices.
